The artist - Alicja Guz

I am an artist based in Western Poland, where the never ending plains inspire my work. My artistic journey began form a very young age of 6. I am so thankfull for my mother neatly keeping all of my attemptes at creation, no matter their visual appeal.

I work in a variety of mediums. My background layes in furniture design and graphic art. My philosophy is that inspirations can come form unexpected fields. I especially like when art, math and natures desing intersect. Bionic design and parametric design are my particular areas of interest outside of graphic arts.

Process & Materials

Every piece is crafted in my home studio. I use traditonal method of block prining fabrics with elements carved form linoleum. The final produtcs are made with water-based fabric ink. In the studio I aim to not use heavy chemicals to desolve inks.

As for the process: It all starts on the walks with a massive gallery of photos taken of flowers. I has been a habit for years. Something about the innocent act of capturing a plant growing free has always put a smile on my face.
